| Magdalene has over 10 years of experience
in dealing with the C-Level executives and other decision-makers
in multinational corporations, marketing Singapore as
the premiere investment hub in Asia. She is currently
a Director with UBS AG Singapore, where Magdalene heads
up the CEFS Business Development effort for Singapore
and Hong Kong, when UBS introduced Corporate Employee
Financial Services in APAC in 2007.
Prior to UBS, Magdalene was the Senior Vice President
for Corporate Relations of an Australian wealth management
firm, where her role was to help companies attract and
retain the best talent, and enhance their employee-benefits
systems. Previously, Magdalene was the regional manager
of a SGX-listed manufacturing company, where she was
the driving force behind its regional business development,
looking specifically at M&A opportunities.
The bulk of Magdalene’s international experience
comes from her service at the Singapore Economic Development
Board (EDB), where was responsible for formulating strategies
and promoting Foreign Direct Investment from leading
multinational companies. At the strategic level, she
planned and implemented nationwide strategies to position
Singapore as a leading electronics manufacturing and
software development hub. She was involved in the negotiation
of international Investment Guarantee Agreements with
more than 20 countries from 1997-2000, and redrafted
the investment document with the Singapore Attorney-General’s
Chambers in 1997, then used by the government as its
standard negotiation text. At the strategic policy level,
Magdalene was involved in the management and administration
of the organisation’s portfolio of billion-dollar
financial incentives schemes.
